Delete your Further account
An account in Further is optional. If you made one, this page is how you delete it and the copy of your journey kept with it. If you never made one, there is nothing here to delete and the data deletion page is the one you want.
From inside the app
- Open Further and go to You, then Settings.
- Scroll to the account section, where your email address is shown.
- Choose Delete account, and confirm when you are asked a second time.
You are asked twice on purpose. It cannot be undone and there is no recovery period.
What is deleted
Your email address and the account itself, and everything stored against it: your reflections and letters, the identity profile the journey built from your answers, your position in the journey, the days and practices you have completed, and the photographs you chose for your Vision board.
It is removed rather than hidden or deactivated, and nothing is kept for a grace period.
The app clears your phone only after the server confirms the deletion. If it fails, on a bad connection or otherwise, nothing has been removed and your journey is still on the phone. Try again when you have a connection.
What is not deleted by it
The copy on your own phone, if you keep the app. Deleting the account signs you out and removes the server copy; what to do about the phone is on the data deletion page, and it covers your phone’s own Google backup as well.
Crash reports and the small number of counted events described in the privacy policy cannot be deleted on request. They carry nothing you wrote and no email address, and the installation identifier they use is not linked to your account, so there is no way for anybody, including us, to find yours. That is a limit worth stating rather than a promise worth making.
If you have already uninstalled
You have two options. Reinstall Further, sign in, and delete the account from Settings as above. Or write to hello@afterframe-studio.com from the address you signed up with, and we will delete it for you.
Write from the account’s own address, or we cannot tell that the account is yours. You will get an answer within 30 days and normally much sooner.
What is stored, who holds it and where, is in the privacy policy.
