Terms of Use
The short version: Further is yours to use for your own journey, what you write remains yours and is stored on your device, and the app is guidance for reflection and wellbeing rather than therapy or medical care.
Version 1.1 · in effect from 22 August 2026
Using Further
You may use Further for your own personal development and reflection, on devices you own or are authorised to use, for as long as the app is made available to you. That permission is personal and cannot be transferred.
You may not resell or commercially redistribute Further, rent or sublicense it, provide access to it as a service to others, copy it except where the law permits, reverse engineer or decompile it except where the law expressly permits, or use it to build a competing product by copying its protected content, design or functionality.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable law.
The current version
This version of Further is free. It contains no purchases, no subscription and no advertising. An account is optional and also free.
A future version may introduce optional paid features. If it does, the price and the terms will be shown before you buy anything, and these terms will be updated where necessary.
Your content
Everything you write in Further belongs to you. No ownership over your reflections, letters, answers or entries is claimed, they are not shown to anyone else, they are not sold or used for advertising, and they are not used to train any model.
They are stored on your device. If you create an account, a copy is also kept on our behalf by Supabase in Germany so that it survives a lost phone, and the privacy policy sets out exactly what is copied and how to remove it. Android's own backup may include them in the backup your phone makes to your Google account, which is your copy in your account rather than ours.
Without an account there is no Further backup and no export, so if you lose the device, or clear the app's data, and your phone backup does not cover it, what you wrote is gone. That is the reason the account exists.
What Further is, and what it is not
Further offers reflection prompts, guided exercises, meditation, movement practices and other personal development content.
It is not therapy, counselling, psychotherapy, a medical service, a diagnostic service, a treatment service, or medical advice. Nothing in it is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical or mental health condition, and no part of it substitutes for professional care.
If you have a medical or mental health concern, speak to a qualified professional. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services. findahelpline.com lists free, confidential helplines by country.
The movement practices are ordinary physical activity and carry ordinary risk, including injury. You decide whether an activity suits you and how hard you do it. If you have an injury or a condition that exercise could affect, speak to a healthcare professional first.
Your responsibility
Further exists to help you reflect and decide for yourself. How you read and act on its prompts and exercises is yours, and no particular result is promised by any exercise or reflection in it.
Availability
Further is provided as it is and as available. We aim to keep it working and current, and we do not promise that every feature is always available, uninterrupted or free of faults.
Changes to Android, to devices, to operating systems or to other technologies can affect how the app works, and updates may follow to keep it compatible. Features may be changed, suspended or withdrawn where that is reasonably necessary.
Other people's work
Some photographs come from Unsplash and are used under the Unsplash License. The other photographs, the writing, the exercises and the recordings were made for Further or are used with permission.
You may use them as part of using Further. You may not reproduce, redistribute, resell or commercially exploit them without permission, except where the law allows it.
Privacy
Your use of Further is also governed by the privacy policy, at https://afterframe-studio.com/further/privacy. It explains what is stored, where it lives, how dictation works, how your phone's own backup affects it, and how to delete it.
Ending your use of Further
Stop using it whenever you like. There is no subscription to cancel.
You remove the app and its data with your phone's normal controls. If your journey is only on the device, removing it may permanently remove writing that is not covered by your phone's backup.
If you made an account, delete it from inside the app, in Settings. That removes your email address and the copy of your journey held for you. https://afterframe-studio.com/further/delete-account sets out the steps, including for somebody who has already uninstalled.
Changes to these terms
These terms are updated when Further's features or the legal requirements change, and a material change moves the version number and the date at the top. If accounts, synchronisation or paid features arrive, these terms will be updated to cover them. The current version is always at https://afterframe-studio.com/further/terms.
